Settings apply when the Bag/Vent selector on the table is in Vent. Item 15: confirm ventilator settings before induction.
Hypoxic guard: N2O can never exceed three times the O2 flow, so the mixture stays at or above 25% O2. Air is not linked.
Item 7: verify the vaporizer is filled and the filler port is closed. The interlock lets only one vaporizer open at a time. End-tidal agent washes in over a few minutes at this fresh gas flow. MAC for a 40 year old adult: isoflurane 1.15%, sevoflurane 2.0%.
Adjustable pressure limiting valve. Fully open (0) vents everything to the scavenger; turning it up sets the pressure the bag can reach during manual ventilation. Close it (70) with the Y-piece occluded for the item 12 leak test, and open it again when you finish.
